Mayumi met The Cure on the 18th of February, 2008 at one of their concerts in Warsaw, and handed the lead singer Robert Smith a handwritten letter of praise. She was very young and it was a very exciting meet-and-greet.

Robert Smith said in conversation: “Just because there’s no sunshine doesn’t mean the sun doesn’t shine! They’re two different things!”
